BTC Election vs Constituency in Bodoland
The Bodoland region has been divided into many election constituencies based on area and population. There are 40 election constituencies in Bodoland meant for the BTC election. People of these constituencies elect their Member of Council Legislative Assembly (MCLA). Each constituency elects one MCLA, so there are 40 MCLAs in Bodoland elected through the BTC election. The Govt of Assam can nominate 6 MCLAs in the BTC government, so the total number of MCLAs in the BTR government is 46.

BTC Election 2020: The new party came into power in the last BTC election held in 2020. The regional party, UPPL, in alliance with the central party BJP and regional party GSP, have formed the Government in BTR.
From the last BTC election in 2020, forty new BTC MCLAs were elected from the 40 constituencies of BTR, and the governor of Assam nominated 6 MCLAs to be part of the BTR government. Of these 46 MCLAs, few are nominated to the Executive Member of BTR. These EMs of BTR are given the power (departments) to run the administration of the BTR government. These EMs mainly comprises of

Kokrajhar Constituency for BTR Election: The Kokrajhar district represents the highest number of BTC constituencies in Bodoland. For the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly election (BTCLA election), there are 12 constituencies in the Kokrajhar district. Out of 12 Kokrajhar constituencies for BTCLA, nine constituencies in Kokrajhar are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes (ST), two for Non-ST, and one for the Open category.
