The District Commissioner of Assam are today given another additional power, from now on they can transfer and posting of any Gazetted and Non-Gazetted officers within their his/her jurisdiction.

The Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt of Assam under the GAD department by the Orders of Government No. SA-15/107/2023, dated 28 Nov 2023, the Governor is hereby pleased to empower the District Commissioner (DC) of the district with the power of transfer and posting of the Gazetted and Non-Gazetted Officers posted by any Department in the particular district within his/her jurisdiction as per the demands of the administrative expediency with immediate effect.
In case of the transfer of the Gazetted Officers, however, the District Commissioner shall have to take approval of the Guardian Minister of the District.
